Core Drilling - Knowledge base.
Application:
- Core drills are used to drill holes into concrete and come with varying sizes of core bits.
- They also come in the smaller hand held ones to drill into walls .The core drill was designed for drilling into floor area and come in the following sizes. 52 mm ,68 mm , 78 mm ,110 mm and 125 mm as well as 152 mm.
- If we don’t stock the size you need we can source it from the supplier for you, please enquire within.
- The maximum length of any core bit is 450 mm but we do stock bit extensions if needed.
- They do come equipped with thermal and overheating protection features and electronic overload and can drill through re -enforced steel.
How to Use:
Cautions:
- Always ensure you steady the drill and use the correct drill speed.
- Check your power source .Never use a generator unless we have tested it for you.(free service)
- Use a maximum of a 20 metre leads (2.5 core)
- Never force the operation you can burn either the drill out or overheat the core drill bit.
- Use a water system or you can hire a pressure bottle (extra charges apply).This helps with cooling. You can use a hose provided you have the correct fittings, if not we can supply.
- DO NOT USE GENERATORS UNLESS CHECKED WITH OUR STAFF.
- This machine has an electronic overload switch .Press it when the machine does not power up. It also has a reset switch on the power cord. Press it and the machine will start.
How to Clean:
- Rinse the barrel assembly with water especially when the concrete has not cured yet. Clear the inside of the barrel of any concrete before it hardens.
- Do not hit the bit as you can cause structural weaknesses in the metal.
- Take a damp cloth and clean the drill as well as the power cord.
